Okotoks, Alberta

Okotoks is a charming town located just 18 kilometers south of Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada.

It is a growing community with a population of around 30,000 people and offers a blend of small-town living with access to big-city amenities. Okotoks has a rich history, dating back to the late 1800s, and features a vibrant downtown core with many shops, restaurants, and cafes.

The town is surrounded by natural beauty and offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation close by, such as hiking, biking, and skiing. Okotoks is also known for its strong sense of community, large sports community/ facilities (hockey & Dawgs Baseball academy), and is home to many community events and festivals throughout the year.

With its friendly people, beautiful scenery, EV charging, and convenient location, Okotoks is a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.

My favourite things to do in Okotoks are: visit local shops, enjoy summer drinks on patios downtown, golf at any of the 3 local courses & take my dog for walks down by the river.

Calgary, Alberta

Calgary is a vibrant and diverse city located in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is the largest city in the province, with a population of over 1.3 million people, and is a hub for business, technology, and culture.

Calgary is famous for its beautiful natural surroundings, including the Rocky Mountains to the west and the prairies to the east. The city is also home to many parks, pathways, and river valleys, providing residents with ample opportunities for outdoor recreation & the NHL Calgary Flames. In addition, Calgary is known for its world-renowned annual events, such as the Calgary Stampede, the Calgary Folk Music Festival, and the Calgary International Film Festival.

The city is also home to many museums, galleries, and theaters, showcasing the diverse arts and culture scene. With its friendly people, stunning natural scenery, and lively cultural offerings, Calgary is a wonderful place to call home or to visit.

My favourite things to do in Calgary are: attend the Calgary Stampede & other rodeo events throughout the year, try new amazing restaurants and speak easy cocktail bars, staycation at nice hotels with fun amenities and close to entertainment.

High River, Alberta

High River is a small town located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the province of Alberta, Canada. It has a population of around 13,000 people and is known for its picturesque downtown, which features many heritage buildings, movie sets and unique shops and restaurants.

The town is surrounded by natural beauty, with the Rocky Mountains to the west and the prairies to the east. High River has a strong sense of community and offers many recreational opportunities, including parks, trails, and golf courses.

The town is also home to the Museum of the Highwood, which showcases the history and culture of the area. High River is a friendly and welcoming town that offers a relaxed pace of life, making it a great place to visit or to call home.

My favourite things to do in High River are: Golf at the Highwood Golf Course, get a milk shake at the Hitchin Post (only open seasonally) and visit clients and friends.

Diamond Valley, Alberta

Black Diamond and Turner Valley are two small towns located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the province of Alberta, Canada. They are located in close proximity to each other, with Black Diamond being approximately 8 kilometers west of Turner Valley. In 2023 they amalgamated into one town and are now known as "Diamond Valley".

Black Diamond is a charming town with a population of around 2,700 people. It is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, which include the Sheep River Valley and the nearby foothills. The town has a vibrant downtown core with many unique shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as several heritage buildings that give the town a historic feel.

Turner Valley is a small town with a population of around 2,000 people. It is known for its rich history, particularly in the oil and gas industry. The town has several museums and historic sites, including the Turner Valley Gas Plant, which is a National Historic Site of Canada. Turner Valley is also surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including the nearby Kananaskis Country and the Sheep River Valley. Diamond Valley offers a relaxed pace of life and a strong sense of community. They are located in close proximity to many recreational opportunities, including hiking, fishing, and skiing in the nearby Rocky Mountains. With their charming downtowns, natural beauty, and friendly people, its a great place to visit or to call home.

My favorite things to do in Diamond Valley are: Go for lunch at or wing night at the "Black Diamond Bar", the food and building are awesome, grab a coffee on the way to a hike or walk by the river with my dog.
